1. Introduction & Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the VistoShield security platform and all related services provided by Vistoweb E.E. (“Vistoweb”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account, installing the WordPress plugin, or using any part of the VistoShield service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use VistoShield.

These Terms apply to all users of VistoShield, including visitors to the website (vistoshield.com), registered users of the cloud dashboard (app.vistoshield.com), and users of the WordPress plugin.

2. Definitions

  • “Service” — the VistoShield cloud security platform, including all features, modules, APIs, and related services.
  • “Platform” — the collective infrastructure comprising the cloud dashboard, API, website, and WordPress plugin.
  • “Plugin” or “Agent” — the VistoShield WordPress plugin that you install on your WordPress sites, which communicates with the cloud API.
  • “Dashboard” — the web-based management interface at app.vistoshield.com.
  • “API” — the VistoShield REST API at api.vistoshield.com.
  • “User” or “You” — any individual or entity that creates an account or uses the Service.
  • “Site” — a WordPress installation that you connect to the VistoShield Service.
  • “Account” — your registered VistoShield user account.

3. Service Description

VistoShield is a cloud security platform for WordPress that provides real-time threat detection, malware scanning, firewall protection, and compliance reporting. The Service includes 14 security modules: Firewall & WAF, Security Scanner, Login Guard, Live Traffic Monitor, Bot Detector, Activity Log, DNS Monitor, Password Policy, API Security, Vulnerability Patcher, Incident Response, CDN Connector, Uptime Monitor, and Reputation Monitor.

The Service operates through a WordPress plugin installed on your sites that communicates with our cloud dashboard and API. The plugin collects security-relevant data from your sites and transmits it to our cloud infrastructure for analysis, storage, and reporting.

4. Account Registration

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Service.
  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account information up to date.
  • Each individual may maintain only one VistoShield account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or abuse the Service is prohibited.
  • You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

5. Free Plan

VistoShield offers a Free plan that is available at no cost, with no credit card required and no time limit. The Free plan includes:

  • Up to 3 connected WordPress sites
  • 5 active security modules and 5 monitor-only modules
  • 3-day data retention for security events, traffic logs, and scan results

We reserve the right to modify the features, limitations, and availability of the Free plan at any time without prior notice. Free plan users will be notified of significant changes via email where possible.

6.1 Pro Plan

  • $89 per site per year (annual billing) or $9.90 per site per month (monthly billing)
  • Up to 100 connected WordPress sites

  • 14-day data retention

6.2 Max Plan

  • $169 per site per year (annual billing) or $18.90 per site per month (monthly billing)
  • Up to 250 connected WordPress sites
  • All 14 security modules
  • 30-day data retention
  • White-label capabilities

6.3 Billing & Renewal

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selection). Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will provide at least 30 days’ email notice before any price increases take effect.

7. Free Trial

New users may be eligible for a 14-day free trial of the Pro plan. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the 14-day trial period, your account will automatically downgrade to the Free plan unless you choose to upgrade to a paid plan.

8. Payment Terms

All payments are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all billing, VAT/tax calculation, invoicing, and payment processing. By purchasing a paid plan, you also agree to Paddle’s terms of service and privacy policy.

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. If you are not satisfied with VistoShield for any reason, contact us at [email protected] within 30 days of your initial purchase for a full refund. This guarantee applies to the first payment only; renewal payments are not eligible for the 30-day guarantee but may be refunded at our discretion on a case-by-case basis.

9. Cancellation

  • You may cancel your paid subscription at any time from the VistoShield dashboard.
  • Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
  • After your billing period ends, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan. Your sites and settings will be preserved, but features exceeding Free plan limits will become inactive.
  • No refunds are issued for partial billing periods, except under the 30-day money-back guarantee described above.

10. Data & Privacy

Your use of VistoShield is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understand our Privacy Policy.

Your data is yours. You retain full ownership of all data that you provide to or generate through the Service. By using VistoShield, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing, maintaining, and improving the Service.

For customers who require a formal Data Processing Agreement (DPA) under GDPR Article 28, our standard DPA is available at vistoshield.com/dpa.

11. WordPress Plugin

The VistoShield WordPress plugin is open-source software licensed under the GNU General Public License v2.0 or later (GPL-2.0-or-later). The full license text is included with the plugin and is available at gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html.

The plugin is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, as described in the GPL. When connected to the VistoShield cloud service, the plugin transmits security-relevant data (heartbeat data, scan results, security events, site configuration) to our cloud API via HMAC-authenticated HTTPS requests. The plugin does not transmit post content, page content, visitor personal data (beyond IP addresses in traffic logs), or database credentials.

12. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the cloud dashboard, API, or any proprietary components of the Service (the open-source WordPress plugin is excluded from this restriction).
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the API or dashboard outside of the intended plugin integration.
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple individuals to use a single account (except where team features are explicitly provided).
  • Attempt to circumvent plan limits, rate limits, or usage restrictions.
  • Use the Service to attack, compromise, or test the security of systems you do not own or have authorization to test.
  • Transmit malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful content through the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its infrastructure.

13. Intellectual Property

  • Proprietary components: The VistoShield name, brand, logo, cloud dashboard, API, and all related documentation and materials are the intellectual property of Vistoweb E.E. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
  • Open-source components: The VistoShield WordPress plugin is licensed under GPL-2.0-or-later and is subject to the terms of that license.
  • User content: All data, content, and materials that you provide to or generate through the Service remain your property. We claim no ownership over your data.

14. Service Level

We make reasonable commercial efforts to maintain the availability and performance of the Service. However, we do not guarantee 100% uptime or uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to planned maintenance (which we will announce at least 48 hours in advance), emergency maintenance, or circumstances beyond our control.

For paid plan customers, our Service Level Agreement (SLA) at vistoshield.com/sla defines our uptime commitments, incident response times, and service credit policy. The current status of all VistoShield services is available at vistoshield.com/status.

15. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will detect or prevent all security threats, malware, or vulnerabilities.
  • The Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
  • The Service will be compatible with all server configurations or WordPress setups.

Security software reduces risk but cannot eliminate it entirely. You acknowledge that no security solution can guarantee complete protection.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vistoweb E.E. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, server downtime, unauthorized access, or security breaches that occur despite the use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the use of the Service shall not exceed the total fees you paid to Vistoweb for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Vistoweb E.E. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Any content or data you transmit through the Service.
  • Your infringement of any third-party rights.

17. Termination

  • By you: You may delete your account at any time from the VistoShield dashboard. Upon deletion, your access to the Service ceases immediately and your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy retention schedule.
  • By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive conduct, or fail to pay for a paid subscription. Where possible, we will provide notice before termination and an opportunity to remedy the violation.
  • Upon termination, any outstanding balances owed to us become immediately due. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) shall survive.

18. Partner Program

VistoShield offers a Partner Program for agencies, hosting providers, and web professionals. The Partner Program is subject to separate terms and conditions available upon enrollment. Partners may receive volume discounts, dedicated license management tools, and (for Max plan partners) white-label rights. Details are available at vistoshield.com/partners.

19. Modifications to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:

  • We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
  • For material changes, we will notify all registered users via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
  • Continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.
  • If you do not agree with the modified Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account before the changes take effect.

20. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Athens, Greece.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain any mandatory consumer protection rights afforded to you under the laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable EU law, including the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

21. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

22. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Service Level Agreement (SLA), and Data Processing Agreement (DPA) (where applicable), constitute the entire agreement between you and Vistoweb E.E. regarding the use of the Service. These Terms supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
